CHURCH OF THE COLUMBAN MOTHERHOUSE, CO. MEATH

The above chapel or church is part of the Columban mother house in Dalgan, Co. Meath, Ireland. The Columban's are an Irish order founded by two diocesan priests to provide missionaries for Asia. It was the intact ciborium that caught my eye.

  1. Thank you for these photos of the chapel where I worshipped from 1961 to 1968. The original altar is a beautiful one. The altar below takes away from the beauty and harmony of the chapel.

Though the last time I celebrated a public Mass 'ad orientem' was in a small rural church in Missouri, the day Neil Armstrong landed on the moon in 1969, I hope to be able to do so again before long.

I'll check out your photos of Holy Family, Aughrim St, where I grew up, though I go home now to Blanchardstown where I often pray in your friary chapel and also in the Oratory in the Shopping Centre where Fr Dan Joe, the Capuchin with boundless energy, serves.

    God bless you!
